Jordan’s Queen Rania participated in the session titled “Leading in a Multicultural World” with Dr. Shapiro during the last day of the World Economic Forum on the shores of Jordan’s Dead Sea on May 20, 2007.
Approximately 1500 participants from 50 countries attended the conference. Queen Rania discussed the importance of connecting across cultures, reducing stereotypes, and bridging the sociopolitical divides. She suggested that while some view the world as divided between East and West, there is an urgent need to create a common room in the middle, where those from around the world work proactively to better understand and appreciate one another.
